Corner sofas are a very popular choice when it comes to living room furniture.  They are great in rooms where extra space is needed, such as in tight living room situations, and are very easy to arrange in any room.  As the name implies, corner sofas fit snugly against a wall and into any corner of the room.  While they are more often seen in living rooms, smaller sets of corner sofas are also great to have in a home office, den or even in a bedroom.

Just as regular sofas, corner sofas can be covered in vinyl, leather or fabric. You may be hard pressed to find an antique style, such as a chesterfield sofa, but there is a huge selection to choose from with prices ranging from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars depending on the brand, size, style and the material is it covered with. Most corner sofa sets, built primarily to put in corners and against walls, are made to a rectangular mold and oftentimes pieces can be switched around or mixed and matched depending on the area that you have to put them in.

Modern Corner Sofas

Modern Corner SofasThese are often covered in either white or black leather or vinyl, and are made to match in with today’s more modern, chic decor.  Modern colored sofas are often found in bright shades such as orange, hot pink, red or blue and can be easily matched to many different decors.  The trend with modern sofas seems to be towards single-color, bright or black and white color schemes.  Many contemporary corner sofas also fold out into beds, which is helpful if you have guests over to stay.  They can double as seating space during the day in the home office and then at night, your home office can turn into a guest room.

Leather Corner Sofas

If you are able to afford them, these are extremely comfortable, durable and they look great as well.  No longer do you need to stick to only black or brown leather corner sofas either.  Leather sofas can now be found in a variety of colors including white, black, brown, and even ivory blue.  Naturally, leather corner sofas are expensive and they can cost up to seven or eight thousand dollars for a large set.

If real leather is outside of your price range, you may be interested in both a faux leather corner sofa or those made from bonded leather, which are considerably cheaper, yet still, have the look and feel of real leather.  The bonded leather does not hold up to wear and tear quite as well as real leather, and it can have a tendency to crack if not cared for properly but with proper treatment bonded leather corner sofas can last for a good while.

Fabric Corner Sofas

Fabric Corner SofasFabric corner sofas are made with a variety of coverings, ranging from the classic single colored cover to stripes and brightly designed sofas.  There really is a lot of variety available when it comes to choosing sofas with fabric covering both in terms of appearance and price.  Generally, it is easier to find cheap corner sofas covered with fabric than those covered with any other material. By the same token, modern corner sofas covered with fabric made by designer furniture makers can cost as much as a leather corner sofa set.

Some people find it more difficult to match fabric corner sofas with existing decor, especially if it is either highly patterned or brightly colored.  This type of bright corner sofa generally fits in better in a living room that is mutely decorated in soft shades.  When it comes to deciding on what the focus of your living room will be, choosing bright fabric corner sofas will automatically draw most of the attention.

If your living room is tiny, or you are looking for some additional comfortable furniture for your master bedroom, you may be just the candidate for small corner sofas.  While most corner group sofas are made to seat anywhere from four to six or eight people, small corner sofas can be found that just sit a couple of people.  They fit very well into rooms with tight spaces, or into bedrooms, dens, studies or libraries. This is also the way to go if you are looking for cheap corner sofas.

The great thing about corner sofas is that many of them come in different sections, and they can be switched around or moved around to accommodate your particular room arrangement.  These corner group sofas are very popular and they are actually much less wieldy and far easier to work with than conventional sofa sets.  If you were the sort of person who likes to move their furniture around and redecorate your home often, you probably would really appreciate the versatility of corner group sofas. If modular is what you are looking for, you may also want to check out curved sofas.

The corner sofa is not only the sofa of choice for people with small living rooms.  In fact, you will find them in many homes, as it is the versatility of being able to move them around and being able to fill up those corner spaces that make many people choose this type of living set over others.
